Heathcote Vallley

Montessori Preschool

The Heathcote Valley Preschool is one of our beautiful purpose-built early learning centres, and is located at 108 Port Hills Road. Purchased in 2020, this is another of our privately owned and operated childcare centres, operating as part of Stables Montessori Preschools group. We operate under the provisions of the Ministry of Education Regulations (2008), and we aim to provide high quality Montessori education, while building relationships with our children and families in a safe and nurturing environment.

At Stables Montessori Preschools, we provide high-quality care and Montessori preschool education for children aged birth to six years old. Each of our kindergartens has  thoughtfully designed learning environments, tailored to support each child’s unique stage of development, fostering independence, confidence, and a love for learning.

Ross Moffatt and Danielle Fisher set up Stables Montessori Preschools to provide quality Montessori Preschool education to the Heathcote community. Heathcote Valley Preschool also provides early childhood education to children from the surrounding areas such as Mount Pleasant, Ferrymead, Hillsborough and Woolston.

Montessori Philosophy

We believe that the first six years of a child’s life are fundamental to their future development. The experiences that take place at The Stables Montessori will lay solid foundations and prepare children for lifelong learning.

Children’s individual uniqueness is celebrated meaning children are respected, happy and develop a strong sense of belonging.

Friendly, motivated, and passionate teachers provide a holistic approach to teaching and learning by weaving Te Whāriki and The Montessori Method creating a specially prepared environment where children have the freedom to make choices, direct their own learning and make new discoveries.

Family and community are integral to our programme, we welcome input from parents and caregivers and value the contribution they make.

All these aspects combined, alongside our thoughtfully planned school readiness curriculum ensures children are set up with the skills and knowledge to succeed in the next step of their journey.
